Welcome to the 7th edition of “Stuff I Like”, where I talk about products, services, blogs or shows that I like.

               Here we go!

ALLO

What is ALLO? ALLO is my favourite new addition to coffee/decaf. Why? What makes it special? As far as I know, it’s the only protein powder that you can add to hot beverages. Every other protein powder has to be mixed with something cold. If you put it into a hot beverage, it clumps. Not ALLO.

I like it both on a personal and professional level. On a personal level – it tastes great. They have hazelnut, vanilla, and other flavours.

On a professional level, one of the most common recommendations I make to clients is to consume more protein, and that’s often a challenge.

But if my client is a coffee drinker, ALLO makes it much easier to get closer to your protein requirements.

I talk about ALLO much more extensively in this article.

Tiny Habits

You see me write about all these client success stories, from:

But one common thing to all of them is behavior change. At the root of it all, we’re helping people change decades-long habits. That’s no easy task, considering how ingrained so many habits are.

However, we pride ourselves not just on our technical knowledge of anatomy, physiology and training methods, but also, our ability to make behavior change easy, palatable, and even fun.

After all, really good technical information that can’t be applied is just impressive… but not practical.

And we’re in the business of progress… not just flexing our brains to impress people.

One methodology my team and I use to change habits is the Tiny Habits methodology. What is it? It’s a book written by Stanford PhD, BJ Fogg.

This is literally the single best book I’ve read on behavior change, and believe me, I’ve read a lot (and yes, I read the book “Atomic Habits” as well. I like Atomic Habits a lot… but I think Tiny Habits is even better).

What do I like about it? Lots!

  • The approach to behavior change – rather than finding the hardest way to do something, he encourages you to brainstorm a bunch of ideas to get to your goal, and pick the easiest one to start with.
  • How to make good habits stick – one element that’s often missing
  • How to take motivation out of the picture. So you don’t just do your habits when you’re motivated – you do them all the time.
  • How to build good habits on each other

…and tons more.

If anyone wants to change a certain behavior, whether it’s your eating habits, exercise habits, but even things that don’t have to do with exercise and nutrition, I highly recommend you pick up this book.

Dani Bakes

In a previous article, we established what a glutton I am, revealing my favourite restaurants, desserts and goodies. C’est la vie.

To add to my gluttony, one of my clients happens to have a baking business, and she makes some of the most delicious pastries I’ve ever had. Plus, she does lots of seasonal goodies as well.

If you want to see what she’s up to this month, her business is called “Dani Bakes”, and this is her Instagram.
